NigeriaDecides2019: Journalist Congratulates Election Winners in Esanland

The Financial Secretary of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Mr. Lucky Isibor, has congratulated the winners of last Saturday’s National Assembly elections in Edo Central Senatorial District.

In a congratulations to the winners, Senator Clifford Ordia, Hon. Joe Edionwele and Hon Sergius Ogun as Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District, Member representing Esan Central/Esan West/Igueben Federal Constituency and member representing Esan South-East/Esan North-East Federal Constituency respectively, Mr. Isibor urged the Federal law makers to ensure the completion of all ongoing projects they’ve attracted to the area.

He also appealed to them to work for the construction of the Ekpoma-Egoro Naoka and Ukpenu- Emuhi link roads to enhance seamless accessibility of  all Esan villages through tarred roads.

“I appeal to you to use the renewed mandate to complete all the ongoing projects you’ve embarked on, such as the construction of the Federal Medical Centre at Illeh- Ekpoma, the construction of the Ebelle- Amahor road among other ongoing projects.

“I also wish to appeal to you honorable men of Esanland to use your good office to see to it that the few interior villages not connected by tarred roads in Esanland are connected. Specifically, efforts should be made to construct the Ekpoma- Egoro Naoka road, Ukpenu- Emuhi road and the completion of the abandoned Ekpoma- Urohi road so that all the villages in Esanland can be connected and accessed by tarred roads seamlessly.”

While commending all the contestants and Esan people for their peaceful disposition during the election as there was no incidence of violence in the area, Mr. Isibor urged the losers to continue to contribute to the development of Esanland and avoid post election litigation and use the resources that would’ve been wasted for that to educate Esan children.

“While congratulating all Esan people for their peaceful conduct before, during and after the election as there were no incidents of violence, I wish to also congratulate those who lost the election that they’re also winners as Esan people are the ultimate winners in the election.

“I wish to appeal to those who lost to continue to contribute to the development of Esanland wherever they may find themselves.

“While I appeal to the winners to extend a hand of fellowship to the losers, I wish to appeal to losers to avoid protracted post election litigation and use the resources that would’ve been deployed for that, in my own opinion, to assist employ teachers in our public schools to educate Esan children. This gesture if accepted will win them Esan votes in the next election.”
