Rivers United Congratulates Governor Wike on Successful Second Term Bid

The management, staff and supporters of Rivers United FC have congratulated the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike (CON, GSSRS, POS) on his successful re-election as Governor of the State.

Speaking on behalf of the club, General Manager of Rivers United FC, Chief Dr. Okey Kpalukwu said the development is a positive one for football and sports in Rivers State and wished the Chief Executive of the State more successes in his second term as Governor.

Chief Kpalukwu also commended the Rivers State Commissioner of Sports, Honourable Boma Iyaye for his ‘dogged and pragmatic leadership style which has taken sports to the next level’.

“I want to use this medium to congratulate our dynamic and able sports-loving Governor on his re-election,” Chief Kpalukwu told the club’s official website.

“The Governor showed, through numerous projects that he is a leader of great vision with a special love for sport.

“That soft spot for sports was fully exemplified by the appointment of Hon Iyaye as Sports Commissioner.

“Hon Iyaye has proven through well-documented actions to be a shrewd manager of sports who will always go the extra mile to get things done.

“Without a doubt, Hon Iyaye possesses a dogged and pragmatic leadership style which has taken sports to the next level in Rivers State.
