…college to host phase 2 of Edo BEST Teacher Training.

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has assured that activities will return to the College of Education Abudu, in Orhionmwon Local Government Area, as soon as the ongoing reconstruction work at the college is over, to train teachers in the Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation (Edo-BEST) Programme.

Obaseki disclosed this while inspecting ongoing reconstruction work at the College, in Abudu, headquarters of Orhionmwon Local Government Area of the state.

Recall that Governor Obaseki launched the pilot phase of the Edo-BEST few months ago, where over 1,500 teachers were trained on the use of technology to improve teaching and learning outcomes in schools.

The teachers have since been deployed to selected schools where technology devices are being used to enhance teaching and learning in the pilot phase of the programme.

The governor said, “I am impressed with what I saw and I am optimistic that when the work is completed, the college would be ready for the training of teachers for the new academic year. The plan is to have the work completed so that teachers can be trained ahead of the new academic session in September.”
