Scene of the Thuggery during Atiku's Visit to Delta State

The actions of the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who on Tuesday received 2019 presidential hopeful, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar at the state government house and thereafter had a closed door meeting with PDP stakeholders at the Unity Hall yet in government house, has generated alot of criticisms.

Rather than the usual meeting of aspirants at the State PDP secretariat as was been used when foremost PDP presidential aspirant and former Governor of Jigawa state, Mr. Sule Lamido visited the state, Okowa rolled out State resources to amplify Atiku’s consultative visit.

Our correspondent who monitored the event, reported that, Atiku’s departure at the end of the closed door meeting gave way to an unprecedented destruction of government facilities and loss of personal belongings as thugs imported by some PDP leaders failed to give peace a chance.

The thugs who quickly invaded the hallowed Unity Hall, went for the Millions given to the party by Atiku and violently ravaged the various PDP leaders, causing tension and unleashing mayhem as they served the fragile men and women with slaps, kicks and whipping with metal chairs.

Security operatives stood helpless in the course of this destruction whilst the thugs dipped their hands into the money bags and disappeared with Atiku’s Millions for Delta State PDP

It was discovered that some of the chairs used for the meeting were destroyed as stakeholders and thugs alike both lost their phones, Identity cards, wallets and a host of belongings while some party faithfuls left the scene with various injuries and torn clothes.

Earlier, an operative of the Department of State Security, DSS, attached to the Governor Okowa almost went rogue as he tried reaching out for his firearm while party faithfuls pressed for entrance into the Unity Hall. A member of the State Assembly, Hon. Daniel Mayuku, member representing Warri South-West Constituency also got lucky as he survived the harassment by another DSS operative.
