Relief for Okada, Keke Riders in Delta as Govt. Stops Payment of Levies

Delta state government has announced the stoppage of all forms of levies paid by commercial tricycle (keke) and motorcycle (okada) riders.

According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Patrick Ukah, dated 23rd March, 2023, the stoppage of these levies under any guise is to continue “until the ongoing review of existing levies and fees is concluded”.

The statement advised that tricycle and motorcycle riders in the state are not to pay any form of levies to any person or group of persons until further notice.

“It’s pertinent to note that anyone or group of persons caught violating the order will be made to face the full wrath of the law” the government.” The statement read.
