By Lucky Isibor,

In line with his humane disposition at giving a helping hand to members of his Constituency in dire Need, The Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator (Engr.) Clifford Ordia (FNSE) Saturday, visited the IDP camp in Illushi, Esan South-East local government area with  relief materials.

While applauding  the administrative finesse of those in charge of the camp, the Senator said the visit and presentation of relief materials was in line with his disposition at giving a helping hand to members of his constituency in dire need.

“We appreciate your effective Crises Management System. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has been directed to act accordingly as a result of the Motion I moved on 11th October 2018, just a few days ago”.

The Senator however expressed his disappointment over the neglect by Edo state government, saying: “I am surprised that the presence of the State Government is not felt here. How can the state government pay deaf ear to your cry? This is sad.

“I stand here today to assure you that this issue has automatically become the first priority in my scale of preference, and I will ensure that NEMA acts without further delay”, he added.

Responding on behalf of those displaced by flood who are in the camp, the camp leader, Mr. Joseph popularly known as Big Joe, who spoke on behalf of the visibly overwhelmed displaced persons, expressed utmost gratitude at the visit.

“We are happy that we have a representative who truly feels the pains of his people. Indeed, we are overwhelmed by your regular show of love whenever we have issues. With what I can see in this 20ft container, I must say, you have surpassed all our expectations.

“If this is what they call effective representation, then we don’t need to ask for more; we got it right”, Big Joe enthused.

Senator was accompanied to the camp by the member representing Esan west, Esan central and Igueben federal constituency, Hon. Joe Edionwele, Elder Johnny Abhulimen, Senatorial Caucus Chairman, Senatorial woman leader, and a host of others.
