We Shall Honour Late Col Joe Achuzia – PG, Ohaneze Ndi Igbo

President General of Ohanaze Ndi Igbo, Mr John Nnia Nwodo Pays Condolence Visit to the Family of Late Col Joe Achuzia in Asaba

The President General of Ohanaze Ndi Igbo, Mr John Nnia Nwodo has said that the Ohaneze Ndi Igbos will devote a day in Enugu to eulogize late Col. Joe Achuzia, noting that the late veteran’s death is disheartening, but one to be celebrated as he was one of the very few that was blessed with old age.

Nwodo stated this on March 5, 2018 in Asaba at the country home of late Col. Achuzia during a condolence visit to the bereaved family, adding that the war veteran was a great leader, an undefilable fighter for the rights of the people, the People’s General, a past Secretary General of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, a patriot and a living father.

The President General assured the family that they are not alone on this route, as the Ohaneze Ndi Igbos are ready to walk this walk with them, emphasizing there is no Igbo man on this planet that does not know Late Col Achuzia’s impact on the Igbo nation.

He stressed that he, the President General came to the great city of Asaba to see the late war veteran who doubled as the Ikemba of Asaba and the Ochiaya of Aba while he was running for the post of President General of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, adding that the family should take heart and stressed that peace be ensured in the family mostly at this time and beyond.

Also speaking during the visit was the Vice President Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, Dr Slyvanus Ebigwei (MON) who stressed that late Col Achuzia risked his life and that of his family during the Biafra war, adding that the late war veteran is indeed a good and great man, if not, the envoy’s visit would have not been necessitated.

Among others who spoke at the condolence visit was Major Frank Azugbogu, a war veteran who fought alongside late Col Achuzia, when Achuzia was trying to recover the Asaba region from the Federal troops, said, the Nigerian Civil War is totally incomplete without Late Col Achuzia.
