We Will Not Abandon Any Project – Okowa

… Commends Delta Speaker for Empowering Constituents.

Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has doused fear that some projects would not be completed because of the numerous development projects embarked on by his administration saying, “we will not abandon any project.”

Okowa gave the assurance on Friday May 4, 2018 during the empowerment programme organised by the member representing Okpe Constituency and Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori at Osubi, Okpe local government area of Delta State.

According to the Governor, “we are aware of the numerous projects going on in different parts of the state, for every project that we set out to execute, we will complete it, we will not abandon any project because, every project is as a result of well thought out process, I am passionate about the development of the state.”

He also clarified why his administration embarked on massive construction of roads across the state, asserting, “road is very important for the development of any community.”

Governor Okowa who was accompanied by top political aides to witness the programme which was attended by people of all walks of life expressed delight with the nature of the programme. He commended Rt. Hon. Oborevwori for appreciating his constituents.

“Severally, our people work for us, it is good that we come back to show appreciation, it may not be this magnitude, we should empower our people to be economically independent, as a state, we have several wealth creation programmes for our people, parents should send their children to technical schools where they can acquire basic skills,” the Governor said.

Hon. Oborevwori had in his speech, observed that Governor Okowa’s has executed a lot of projects in his constituency noting that the empowerment programme was to appreciate his constituents for their support.

“I have presented my stewardship as your humble representative at the hallowed chambers of the most vibrant House of Assembly in Nigeria; the programme we are witnessing today is in fulfillment of my promise to always appreciate you for your support for me, our great party, the ‘Peoples Democratic Party’ (PDP) and our amiable Governor, His Excellency Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa,” the Speaker said.

The Speaker stressed that, “this empowerment is hinged on the fact that over the years, I have been a strong believer that it is better to teach a man how to fish than to give him handouts; more so, this is in line with His Excellency, Senator Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa’s S.M.A.R.T Agenda of wealth creation; I am glad to say I enjoy putting permanent smiles on the faces of my constituents.”

“Today, some number of persons will benefit from the empowerment Programme. I congratulate the beneficiaries and urge those who are not getting today to be patient, as it will get to their turn in due course. I urge all beneficiaries to make good use of the packages to better their lives”.

4 Cars, 20 Buses, 20 Deep freezers, 10 Tricycles (KEKE), 20 Hair Dressing Saloon Components including Generator sets, 40 Grinding Machines, 500 Wrappers and Head Ties, 30 Sewing Machines, grants for Secondary and University Students, Financial Assistance to Traders, among others, were carried out as empowerment programmes at the event.

Former Minister of Information, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, Chairman of PDP in the state, Barr. Kingsley Esiso, among others who spoke at the event described Rt. Hon. Oborevwori as a philanthropist who derives joy in giving and working for his people.
